Thank you for visiting our website.
The Bedford National Trust Association is a voluntary association of National Trust Members and Volunteers that was founded in 1978 to promote and prosper the work of the National Trust.
We currently have over 300 members from North Bedfordshire and neighbouring counties.
Our objectives are to promote the National Trust by raising funds in its support. We have a programme of events and activities to enrich members' understanding of its work and make membership of the Trust more enjoyable and effective.
Members receive a newsletter 3 times a year which helps to keep them informed of our own activities and also provides information on matters more widely affecting the Trust.
Among the many National Trust properties that we support financially, our local property is Willington dovecote and stables, just a few miles away. Many of our members provide volunteer support by working as stewards there on open afternoons, and by providing display materials and items for our growing collection of Tudor costumes for children.
We normally meet on the third Tuesday of every month between September and March at The Addison Centre, Bedford Road, Kempston, MK42 8PN which has adequate free car parking. We have a varied talks programme provided by professional speakers. Free refreshments are available which provides the opportunity to socialise with other members.
We also offer a talks service to local groups. Our experienced speakers offer a wide range of subjects for a reasonable fee. The funds raised are used to support National Trust projects.
We arrange day trips and short break holidays to places of interest. Social occasions are held each year such as a Christmas event, an annual lunch and a welcome coffee morning for new members.
